Get Set for a Picnic at the Rock Creek Park

One of DC’s most-loved recreational destinations, Rock Creek Park is 2000 acres of forested area cradled amid billion-dollar high-rises and contemporary corridors. On a pleasant day, it is just the place for a day-out or picnic, with a wide array of activities to participate in.

Set out on the 29 miles hiking trail, peddle through the picturesque web of cycling tracks, go horse-back riding, or play a round of golf—there is no dearth of the outdoorsy things you can do here. Also check out the granite boulder marking the historic spot of Lincoln’s Fort Steven’s tour, and the Smithsonian National Zoo, which is home to the very first Pandas of America!
